Selah Ministries

A Ministry organization of spiritually mature collegiate young ladies (and gentleman) who are in relationship, not religion, [2 Timothy 2:15] with The Lord; by way of studying the Word of God; showing themselves approved to share the uncompromised truth of God’s Holy Word through campus fellowships, bible studies, and ministerial campus activities that are designed to advance the Kingdom of God, [Luke 4:16-20] through His Son Jesus Christ across college campuses nationwide and abroad.

Matthew 16:18-20 - And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Tenants of Faith

  1. Triune Godhead: We believe in the Holy Trinity which is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Father: Genesis 1:1, Son (Jesus): Colossians 2:9-10, John 14:6, John 1:1-14, Holy Spirit: 2 Corinthians 3:17; 13:14, Galatians 5:16-18, John 14:15-18, John 16:7-15)

  2. Jesus Christ The Messiah: We believe that Jesus is the Son of God who was sent to die for our sins and was resurrected after being crucified and currently sits at the right hand of The Father in Heaven interceding for us. Once Christ died, the veil that separated us from The Lord was torn restoring a personal connection between us and The Father. (John 1:1-14, Matthew 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 15: 3-8, Colossians 2:9-10, Romans 8:34-37, Matthew 27:51)

  3. Life After Death: We believe in eternal life with God (the Kingdom of Heaven) or eternal death (Sheol) in Hell. We believe our eternal life (or eternal death) is a free-will choice made by how we live on this earth. (John 14:2, Philippians 3:20, Matthew 19:14, 2 Timothy 4:18, 2 Corinthians 5:1, Revelation 21:8)

  4. Salvation: We believe that we must confess with our mouth our belief in Christ to be saved, but then maintain our salvation by continuing to exude Biblical principles and godly character and not with religious works but through a transformational relationship with Christ. (Romans 10:9-11, Colossians 6-7, 2 Peter 1:1-10, 2 Corinthians 5:20-21, Galatians 5:19-26, Hebrews 6:4-6, Ephesians 2:8-9)

  5. Commission of Believers: We believe that Christians should share the Gospel as we are all ministers of The Gospel (Matthew 28:19, Psalm 96:3, Mark 16:15, Romans 1:16)

  6. Faith: We believe that faith is an important Biblical principle that is a direct product of a relationship with Jesus Christ in which we are obedient and trust in what He has shown us (James 2:14-26, Hebrews 11:6)

  7. Tripartite Beings: We believe that God created mankind of male and female in His image and likeness (Body, Soul, & Spirit). Therefore, we are beautifully and wonderfully made by our Creator God. (Genesis 1:27, Genesis 5:2, Psalm 139:13-16)

  8. Infallibility of The Bible: We believe that adding, taking away, or editing the Bible is not permitted. (Deuteronomy 4:2, Deuteronomy 12:30-32, Revelation 22:18-19)

  9. Scripture: We believe that Jesus is The Word of God placed in a body to dwell among us hence solely inspired by God. Scripture should be subject to the interpretation of The Lord and Him alone. (John 1:1-18, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  10. Bodies that Glorify God: We believe that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and we should use our bodies only in holiness through what we wear and do. Understanding that our lives are a mere reflection of what is in our heart, our outward appearance starts with a change at heart (1 Corinthians 6:9-11, 18-20; Romans 1:26-28; Genesis 18-19, Proverbs 27:19).

    • Our faith emphasizes modesty as a form of respect for God, others, and fostering inner character. While attire is important, scripture teaches that a pure heart is what truly matters (1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Samuel 16:7). As God's creation, we view our bodies as beautiful and believe cosmetic surgery is unnecessary unless medically required.

  11. Singularity of the Fruit of The Spirit: We believe that we are to exude the Fruit of the Spirit and that it is impossible to have one without the others (Galatians 5:22-23, Beatitudes: Matthew 5:3-12, One Body w/ many members: 1 Corinthians 12:12-7 and Love: 1 Corinthian 13:4-8)

  12. Five-Fold Ministry Gifts: We believe in the five-fold ministry gifts (apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, and pastors) to build up the Church (the body of Christ) and equip them to do His good work (Ephesians 4:11-12)

  13. Spiritual Gifts: We believe in the gifts (wisdom, knowledge, faith, tongues, prophecy, service, healing, interpretation of tongues, discerning of spirits, and working of miracles) to advance His Kingdom here on earth. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

  14. Marriage and Sexuality: We believe marriage is a spiritual covenant between one biological man, one biological woman, and The Lord that resembles Christ’s relationship with His bridegroom, The Church. (Ephesians 5:22-33) Any other pairing is not admissible nor blessed per the mandate in Genesis to be fruitful and multiply. (Genesis 1:26-27, Leviticus 18:22-23; Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9)

  15. Gender and Gender Identity: We believe the Lord is perfect and in Him there is no fault, so He does not make mistakes. (Psalm 18:30) The body that we are born in, and the gender we were born as, is the body and gender The Lord intended us to have, as we are fearfully and wonderfully made. It is not for us to change our bodies or sex to fit a different gender, sexuality, or gender identity (Psalm 139:14; Romans 1:20-32)

  16. Abortion: We believe each of us are known and given a purpose before the foundation of the world and before we are conceived. Thus, unborn babies are acknowledged and recognized by The Lord because He knew them before He knitted them in the womb. Additionally, the Lord honors life and commands us not to murder or to shed innocent blood. Lastly, children are a heritage from the Lord (Jeremiah 1:5; Genesis 9:5-6; Psalm 127:3-5)

  17. Health: We believe, as Jesus reminded Peter, everything God creates is good. Therefore, our bodies are sacred vessels, temples of the Holy Spirit. We honor God by caring for these temples with nourishment from the earth and habits that promote health (Genesis 2). The Lord is our ultimate healer, but He also empowers us to be responsible stewards of our physical well-being. Illness can sometimes have spiritual roots (Matthew 8:14-16), but it can also be a call to care for ourselves with wisdom or to God’s glory (John 11:4).
