Our Mission
The path of a saint, though undeniably difficult, is not insurmountable. For Christ himself serves as our rock, an unwavering foundation upon which we can build. This truth resonates deeply with Selah.
Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold…
As the word "Selah" translates to "The Rock" in Hebrew, we aspire to create a safe place for God’s people to gather, encourage and restore each other, by fellowship, and praying for one another during their Christian walk. We are anointed by the Holy Spirit to create a supportive community and kingdom network to share the Gospel of Jesus and reach souls through evangelism and teaching.
Selah prioritizes cultivating a relationship with Christ and dismantling barriers that prohibit doing so. Above all, we adhere to the Bible, God’s Word, carefully and with intention.
Selah welcomes all who yearn for the transformative power of Christ, reflecting the message of 2 Corinthians 5:17-19: “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! 18 And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation”
The Beginning
Selah began at Agnes Scott College as a student-led religious organization starting in 2013. However, we initially were chartered under a different name in part with a national women’s ministry organization designed to honor God with their lives and with their bodies. Being led by The Holy Spirit, we realized The Lord had a different path for us, and a well-needed transformation began taking place so that the will of God for Selah could begin. It started with the renewing of minds with in-depth, Holy Spirit-filled, and Holy Spirit-led guidance and teaching, brought to us by way of His servant, Apostle and Prophetess Wendy Connor. Apostle Connor, lovingly called “AC”, is the founder of JITA Publishing & Ministries which is an Apostolic and Prophetic teaching and literary ministry. The Lord sent Apostle Connor to Selah with prophetic instruction; to teach, train, and equip the Selah Organization ) to do the work of the ministry by thoroughly preparing us to grow and be a global ministry initiative that is seeking to advance the Kingdom of God through spiritual growth, maturity, and Biblical knowledge among, but not limited to, college campuses throughout this nation and abroad (Ephesians 4:12; 2 Timothy 3:17).
The Foundation
And in just seven short months, Selah was no longer a religious campus organization going through the motions of religious traditions, customs, and formalities. Just as the Apostle Paul states in Romans 12:2: “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. We have ceased in our old nature (Romans 8:13), and stepped out of darkness and into His (The FATHER’s) marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9) having become Kingdom-minded and Spiritually focused and being introduced to the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Our purpose which is Matthew 16:18 was given to us by the Lord on June 25, 2022, through His servant Apostle Connor as follows:
“So we started with the Hebrew of Selah. There isn’t a Greek (New Testament) word for Selah.
But you sisters picked up in your spirits that, one of the Hebrew Words for Selah is selaʿ which is pronounced the way you are currently pronouncing this Selah Ministry Organization /seh'-lah / or phonetically pronounced say'-lah. This Selah means "The Rock" , and is indeed the Selah word for the purpose of this ministry organization.
However, herein lies the revelation of understanding:
Matthew 16:18
And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
Focus on Peter and on this rock. Be mindful there is no Greek word for Selah (The Rock), however, there is a Greek word for Rock!
Sisters, His learning for us is always in the journey He takes us on!
Peter in Matthew 16:18 is the Greek word petros /pet'-ros/ it is the masculine noun for a “rock or a stone” metaphorically speaking it speaks of a soul hard and unyielding, and so resembling a rock. It should be noted Peter one of the twelve disciples of Jesus,
Rock in Matthew 16:18 is the Greek word petra /pet'-ra/ it is the feminine noun for ‘a projecting rock’, a large stone a man like a rock, by reason of his firmness and strength of soul.
Therefore, Peter is representative of Jesus Christ and the Rock is representative of the church, which is Christ’s Bride is the foundation of which Christ has built His Church here on Earth!
My God! That is a Rhema word!”
