Expectancy in the Lord

What comes to mind when you think about the word “expect”?

For instance, when you are expecting something, let’s say a package for example, you might feel excited, right?

If I could define the word “expect”, it would be to wait with anticipation.

Point being, it is a joyous thing to expect something because you know it’s going to come.

That is the same feeling the Lord wants us to have when we are waiting on Him, regardless of what it may be. We are to wait with hope, with confidence, with full expectation that He will come through, because He will!

Lamentations 3:24-25 AMP

““The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul; “Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him. [Num 18:20] The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word].”

Psalms 27:14 AMP

Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.”

You see how scripture is telling us the attitude that we should have in waiting for Him? We are to wait with confidence and expectation! Glory to God!

Notice how when we do this, it casts out all sorrow, anguish, anxiety and even impatience. We know that we serve a big God and He is good to those who wait on HIM. There is a certain confidence that comes with knowing that the Lord will come through.

Friends, waiting and expecting the Lord should be a JOYOUS thing because we know He will come through!

So wait with expectancy, wait with confidence, wait knowing that the Lord will come through. He always does.

Be encouraged, Saints! Place your expectation in the One who never fails.
