Find It Not Strange
“An unjust man is repulsive to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way [of the Lord] is repulsive to the wicked.” Proverbs 29:27 AMP
It was late one night as I laid in bed and came across this scripture. Right then and there, it clicked! You see, when you start looking at the world with your spiritual eyes and not your natural eyes, some things aren’t as strange as you would think.
“while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” II Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
As I began meditating on this verse, the Lord began to help me to understand that good and evil will never just “get along”. Wicked and righteous will never just “get along”. Why? Because it’s as clear as scripture states it.
“An unjust man is repulsive to the righteous, And he who is upright in the way [of the Lord] is repulsive to the wicked.” Proverbs 29:27 AMP
We experience a warring in the natural because that's exactly how it is in the spirit realm! It is good vs. evil. We will never “mix”. There will always be a stark contrast between the two. Until heaven and earth pass away, there will be a discontinuous warfare of good versus evil.
The battle that we fight in the natural should come as no surprise to us because it started in the spirit realm first. As I began to think on some of experiences I had, I found that they were not such strange happenings after all, because:
We wrestle not against flesh and blood (Ephesians 6:12).
We (Saints) will always contend with the forces of evil.
In fact, the Lord made it to be like this since the beginning of time.
Genesis 2:1 (NKJV) tells us that, “Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.” Now we know that Genesis is the book of beginnings, right? So we know that in the beginning, the Lord created the heavens, the earth, and the host.
What are host, you may ask?
Strong’s Concordance defines “host” as the Hebrew word: tsaba; which means host, army, service, warfare. Meaning, this spiritual contending was predestined by the LORD from the beginning of time.
Circling back to Proverbs 29:27, why does evil find good repulsive and good find evil repulsive? Because that’s exactly how the Lord intended it to be. Since the beginning of time there has always been a warring, a contesting with evil. Same thing calls to right now.
Some things ought not to be so strange when you realize that though we live in the natural (the seen), we are fighting in the spirit (the unseen).
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,”II Corinthians 10:3-4
