By Their Fruit
You know the phrase “actions speak louder than words”? Well, it’s true! The Bible says that “you shall know them by their fruit”!
Matthew 7:16 NKJV
“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit”
You see, it’s as simple as that. The Bible states it so clearly. Good trees bear good fruit and bad trees bear bad fruit. No guessing or wondering necessary.
We live in a world today where people proclaim to be a Christian or most commonly “a disciple”, but the Bible tells us that a person’s fruit will tell us everything we need to know. Let’s take a deeper look at this verse.
The phrase “you will know” is Strong's Concordance 1921. epiginóskó, and it means: “To know, to recognize, to perceive, to understand fully.”
That part “to understand fully” really stands out to me. The Bible is telling us that by their fruit (which is Strong's G2590 - karpos meaning “work, act, deed”) we will understand FULLY who a person is…
Let that sink in.
Friends, the point I am trying to make is that regardless of who a person says they are, the Bible tells us to measure it against their fruit; their work, act, or deeds. That is how we keep ourselves from falling into the deception of the enemy! Know them by their fruit, NOT their words…
1 John 3:7-10
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.
Matthew 12:33
33 “Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree bad and its fruit bad; for a tree is known by its fruit.
Go in peace.
