Cling to Him

People of God, wherever you are, whatever season you may be in, remember to cling to Him. I was reading a passage in Deuteronomy 13:4 and three words really stuck out to me: “Cling to Him”.

Let’s head over there, shall we?

Deuteronomy 13:4 AMP (emphasis added)

“You shall walk after the Lord your God and you shall fear [and worship] Him [with awe-filled reverence and profound respect], and you shall keep His commandments and you shall listen to His voice, and you shall serve Him, and cling to Him.”

As I was reading, the words “cling to Him” deeply resonated with me! Question— what comes to mind when you think about the word “cling”?

Take a moment to think about that.

When I think about the word “cling”, I think of Tarzan. The  long tan rope, the down- right fear he must have felt swinging through the jungle, but most of all, his tenacious grip as he held on for dear life. As we swing through the jungle of life, we too ought to hold on to the Lord for dear life! The Lord knows that it will get tough, He knows that difficult situations will come, that temptations will try to lure us from Him; but what does the Lord say in the midst of those things? Cling to Him! Don’t loosen your grip.

When you’re nervous, cling to Him! When you’re scared, cling to Him! When you don’t know how things will go, what will happen, or how you’ll make it, cling to Him! When you feel like you can’t take it anymore, hold on tightly to the Lord! Cling to Him in prayer, cling to Him through His Word, cling to Him through worship! Whatever you do, don’t let go!

Friends, let this be a word of encouragement! Cling to the Lord, let not His word depart from your heart (Joshua 1:8), and hold on to Him!

Let’s pray!

Dear Lord,

Thank you for an opportunity to come to you in prayer! Thank you for being my refuge when the winds and storms of life seem unbearable. Lord, help me to cling to you, as your Word says, in whatever I face so that You may get the glory in every situation; and in clinging to You, may my faith continue to grow. Thank you for never leaving me nor forsaking me! I love You and praise You! It’s in Jesus’s name I pray,

Amen!

Be encouraged!🩷
