For Your Glory
A little while ago we talked about endurance, but if I’m honest, I had been having trouble enduring lately. Then I realized something special. I was at work when these lyrics came to mind. I began to sing the chorus of “For Your Glory” by Tasha Cobbs Leonard. It goes as such:
“For Your glory
I will do anything
Just to see You
To behold You as my King”
Then it hit me…We endure for the glory of God! He is our why! He is the reason why we keep going. I don’t know about you but this revelation was the exact jump start my spirit needed. You see friends, in all that we DO we do it for the Glory of God. Even in the struggle, we keep going for the Glory of God.
Yes, the Lord will strengthen you. Yes, He will get you to the other side, but if you ever start to doubt or question your ability to carry on, remember your WHY. Look at how Colossians 3:23-24 states it plainly.
Colossians 3:23-24 AMPC (emphasis added)
23 Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,
24 Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah).
1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that in all we do, do it for the glory and honor of God.
31 So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.
So the next time you find it hard to keep going, remember your WHY. Remember you’re not just showing up for yourself, you’re showing up (by enduring) for the Lord. In ALL that you do, do it for the Lord.
