New Year, New You!

Happy New Year, people of God!

If you’re reading this, that means the Lord has blessed you to see another year. What will you do with that opportunity? We often hear people saying “new year, new me”, but in Christ, we should be a new creation and always striving to do better than we have before:

Ephesians 4:22-24 - To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness

Ephesians tells us that we really should change in our actions and our thoughts when we get saved. You should not be the person you were before.

I am sure you know the hymn “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, which comes from the following scripture:

Lamentations 3:22-24 - The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Notice that it says his mercies are new every morning. It’s not some mornings or on certain days. So don’t waste that opportunity. The fact that you are alive reading this is not an accident. The Lord is calling you to walk in a new way or a renewed way.

So this year, let your resolution be that you resolve to be a new creation in Christ! If you are already saved, then I implore you to evaluate where you are in your walk and strive to go deeper with the Lord than you ever have before! Friends, I warn you to not only want to do differently because it’s the start of a New Year. Also, don’t put off doing good:

Proverbs 27:1 Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.

Go in peace and walk in a newness! If you don’t know Christ, visit our website to pray the prayer of salvation and get saved. Happy New Year and make saved choices.
