The Lord is an Excellent Father

In this ministry, Apostle Wendy Connor has always taught us that we are the first partakers (meaning we are the first consumers and doers) of any message or word we are sent to share, and scripture confirms just that. Laboring for The Lord’s Kingdom we know is never in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) because not only do we receive eternal life, but we also are able to eat its fruit in this life, gaining empowerment and nutrition from our labor in The Kingdom. And I have learned that that empowerment leads to the fulfillment we receive when we live out the purpose that we were created for. Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago.” So many people do not realize that the gifts, passion, and drive we have has been given to us by God to be used for the purpose He assigned to advance His good works. For example, when I began college, I wanted to be a social justice advocate, whether it was for women rights or for black rights, I had a desire to champion change for marginalized communities. Little did I know, that passion that I had towards injustice was the passion that He wanted me to use to reach the captive souls that perish everyday because they have not encountered the Gospel, the true change agent. Romans 1:16 says  “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.“ Meaning that the ability to be saved and receive salvation is indicative of the power of God that can only be seen once we believe. See,  God wants to do for us, but we have to do our part

We do not serve a “got you” kind of God. What I mean by that is that God is not out to get us or to trip us up, those are tactics of the enemy (James 1:13-15). Regardless of the lies the enemy tries to feed you, our Father wants the best for us and wants to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think according to His power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). All that The Father wants to do in our lives depends on how willing we are to obey Him and His call. He can’t work within you unless you let Him. He can only go as far as you allow Him to take you. Think of it like this, your obedience is required to protect the interest (winning souls, advancing His Kingdom) of our employer. We were employed, commissioned by Christ to spread the Gospel and win souls using whatever unique gift He has given us. Along with eternal life and the fulfillment we receive living out our calling, we are also given everything we will need to live a godly life (2 Corinthians 9:8).

Romans 8:32 says “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?” See, we serve a God that is not slack when He blesses His people. Think about the parable of the prodigal son. Luke 15:22-24 says “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry.” This story is a beautiful representation of the God we serve. When we are not saved, we are lost. However, when we become saved we are found, restored, and shown who we were always supposed to be.

“Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” Ephesians 4:23-24

Not only does Heaven rejoice when someone is saved (Luke 15:7-10), but there is much for the repented person to rejoice about and will live  fulfilled and blessed here on earth. This all speaks to the character of our Heavenly Father.

Check out these two verses that describes the heart of our Father (emphasis added):

Matthew 23:37 –“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.

Ezekiel 33:10-11–“Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’ As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?”

We all make choices in our lives, and those choices can either create a gap between you and The Lord or can bring you closer to Him. The purpose of Jesus was that we can adopt the mind of Christ. To recognize what choices will bring you closer to Him and to give you the mind to make those decisions. That’s the God we serve. When sin entered into the world, man's perception became contaminated, giving each and every human on this planet a natural desire to do evil which was contrary to what The Lord intended (we are made in His Image and His Likeness). When we become believers, we are never out of this sinful flesh, instead we crucify it, allowing Christ to live on the inside of us which inturn overpowers our evil nature to sin. Hallelujah! That new nature mentioned above in Ephesians 4:23-24 was already there from the beginning of time in Genesis, it is just new to you! Salvation is the gift that keeps on giving because once you are saved, you are to share the gift with others so they may be saved. That is also the reward we receive when we protect our employers interest; our souls and others.

I’ll leave you with this, Prophetess Lauretta Pickett once said familiarity leads to disrespect, so I urge you to never get too familiar with our Father. What I mean by that is never think you know all there is to know about Him. Learn more of His character by building your relationship with Him and staying in His Word because He and His Word are one (John 1:1-2). Pray that He will show you more of His nature and bless you with a deeper revelation of who He is.

Deuteronomy 29:29 (NIV) says “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.” This scripture expresses two things: The Lord wants to reveal Himself to us and He wants us to take our revelations and keep them to encourage our pursuit of knowing Him better. By truly living for Him through His Word, we may discover His purpose in each of our individual lives.

Go in peace.
