Where Credit Is Due
Have you ever heard the phrase “giving credit where credit is due”? I’m sure you have. We usually use that phrase to acknowledge someone when we should be giving them credit in a certain situation.
How often do we give God credit where credit is due? Just the fact that we are alive should be enough for us to praise Him:
Acts 17:28 AMP
28 For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’
Romans 11:36 NKJV
36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
Romans 1:20 NKJV
20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse
Based on these scriptures, just by virtue of God being our Creator and the originator of all things, we should be giving Him credit and honoring Him as God!! And the book of Romans takes it a step further by basically saying if you have sight, you should be able to literally look around and see the things around you and KNOW there is a God!
Honor your Heavenly Father by acknowledging His omnipotence and give Him the credit for everything He is due:
Psalm 9:1-2 NKJV
I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
2I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Psalm 86:8-10 NKJV (bold added)!
8 Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
9 All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
10 For You are great, and do wondrous things;
You alone are God.
All glory belongs to God.
Go in peace!
